We Cannot Grow another Earth – SOLD
Piece #1 chosen by Korean Juror Judges for above show ”Vital Signs” This piece is a very dark scene trees (done with glue gun plastic) and sky. I feel if we don’t do anything to safe Mother Earth our future is dark. The name of the piece is “We cannot grow another Earth” so the little silhouette of the girl sits reading under the tree to educate herself on what she can do to safe Mother Earth.
Piece #2 chosen by the Korean Juror Judges for the above show “Vital Signs” I use landfill items in my mixed media pieces. In this piece I used caps from milk/juice containers. I decided to use them as the center of my flowers. Then I thought wouldn’t it be cool if I could put a hidden surprise inside. So this piece is interactive. The name of the piece is called “Ladybug Ladybug where are you?” When you screw off the cap lids the answer to the title is revealed, they are under the caps. I hope by using landfill pieces I inspire other artist and children to repurpose landfill pieces so that they can live on in a beautiful piece of art for many generations instead of filling up the landfills.

Mixed media, Acrylic paint, material and plastic repurposed cap 8 x 20 Canvas

I take great pride in repurposing landfill/recycling items in my art. It’s my small way of helping out with global warming and environmental pollutants like plastics. This piece was created using a egg carton and coffee/tea cup holders. I bring them back to pulp by boiling them. The petals of the flowers were made with left over materials I had from when I was making masks during covid.

Cap off with secret hidden ladybug inside

I take pride using landfill/recycle items in some of my mixed media pieces. It’s my small way to help with global warming and environmental pollutants like plastic. This piece is acrylic with plastic and rope. The centre of the flower was created using the caps that come on milk, cream and juice cartons. This piece is an interactive piece. When you screw the cap off the centre of the flower it will reveal a secret little insect😊 This one has a painted ladybug. So when you have it hanging in your home and have company over you can show them your piece of art. They will think it’s great that it was created reusing the plastic caps but then you say “oh but that’s not all this piece of art is, it is also interactive, screw off the cap and you will see a surprise inside” Imagine the conversations this will start and how proud you will be to be the owner of this one of a kind original piece knowing by purchasing it you also did your small part in ensuring that this cap will live on for many generations as a piece of art!
